Held At The Range The Product Needs.

Refrigerated and ambient-controlled transport for perishables and temperature-sensitive cargo.

Overview

Most cargo tolerates the weather. Some does not — fresh produce, dairy, processed food, cosmetics, certain chemicals, and anything whose shelf life is a function of the temperature it has seen. Controlled transport exists to keep that clock running as slowly as possible. The work is less about refrigeration than about consistency: a load that is held steadily at the right band for the whole journey will outlast one that is run colder but allowed to swing.

What’s Included

Chilled transport

Refrigerated movement for produce, dairy, and processed food where shelf life is temperature-dependent.

Frozen transport

Movement at frozen set points, where the requirement is to avoid partial thaw and refreeze rather than simply to stay cold.

Controlled ambient

A held band above refrigeration for goods that are damaged by heat but must not be chilled.

Multi-temperature loads

Separate compartments at different set points where a single vehicle carries mixed requirements.

Pre-cooling

Bringing the space to temperature before loading, so warm air is not sealed in with the product.

Load planning

Stacking and airflow planned so the whole load sits in the moving air rather than only the outer cases.

How It Works
  1. Set point agreed

The band, the tolerance either side, and what counts as an excursion for your product.

  2. Vehicle prepared

Cleaned, checked, and pre-cooled to the set point before the product is loaded.

  3. Loaded for airflow

Product loaded so cold air can circulate — a tightly packed trailer cools its edges and not its middle.

  4. Monitored in transit

Set point held and logged for the journey, with deviations raised while they can still be corrected.

  5. Delivered and recorded

Handover against proof of delivery, with the temperature record where the consignment requires one.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between this and pharma cold chain?
The equipment overlaps; the discipline does not. Pharma cold chain adds documented custody, defined excursion handling, and a temperature record issued as evidence with every consignment. If your goods are regulated, you want the pharma service.
Can one vehicle carry two different temperatures?
Where multi-temperature compartments are available, yes. Confirm the split and the volumes and we will confirm whether it can go on one vehicle or needs two.
Is the vehicle cooled before loading?
Yes — pre-cooling is standard. Loading warm product into a warm trailer and expecting the unit to recover in transit is how shelf life gets lost.
Do you carry mixed food and non-food loads?
Segregation rules depend on the goods involved. Tell us what is moving together and we will confirm whether it can share a compartment.
